MIAMI (Reuters) - A baby boy wrapped in a plastic bag was tossed from a car on a street in North Lauderdale, Florida, about an hour after his birth, police said on Friday.
The newborn, with umbilical cord still attached, was rushed to a hospital Thursday, where he remained in serious condition.

Police said witnesses saw a white, older model car slow down on a street in North Lauderdale, just northwest of Fort Lauderdale. The passenger door opened and "what appeared to be a package was tossed out of the car" into a grassy area, a police statement said.

A passerby saw the bundle moving, took the baby out of the plastic bag, wrapped him in a towel and took him to a nearby police station.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a man and woman in the car arguing just before the baby was tossed out.

The man and woman could face charges, police said. Under a Florida statute known as the Safe Haven law, parents can hand over newborns up to three days old to the staff of a hospital, firehouse or ambulance station without being prosecuted.

Good God! What's wrong with people. All these people who deserve babies can't have them and those who don't need them have 12 of them..

Its been determined that the woman made up this story to hide the fact she had the baby and didn't or doesn't want it. So there was no man or woman that threw the baby from the car.
