in my house.....mine are on their last leg and I just need to break down and purchase new ones before these burn up and the worst happens.

So I have been researching them online tonight - geesh - wish I had an unlimited income because I found some fancy machines out there.....

I"m looking to spend $300 on a washing machine and $700 on a refrigator - want a double-door with water and ice dispenser - found one at Lowe's for $699 - need to go and see if in person and up close to see if its good or a piece of junk.

Oh well - that's my excitement for the weekend LOL.. Went to my great-nephew's 2nd birthday today - can't believe he is already 2 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Duncan!

Ticka - isn't funny on how we take for granted the appliances we have nowadays. They usually work fine for 10-15 years without any major problems. To think how that just 40-60 years ago your frig was a block of Ice and your washing machine was your arm(s) and soap.
I know that both my Frig and Washing Machine ar about 12 yrs old - so I am just hoping they will hold out for about another 2 years.

Hope you will find both appliances at a reasonable price (yet a good one)!!

Have a great weekend!!

Ticka, do you have a sears outlet store near you. I bought a year ago a new washer and dryer. They were stratch and dent but who cares on the washer. Also I have a 2000.00 refrigerator, I bought 2 years ago, my brother knows someone from GE and I bought for 500.00. It was a stratch and dent and I cant find a dent in it at all. I did have to go to Louisville KY and pick it up, but it was either 250.00 to replace the ice maker or 500.00 for a new one. I think the new one out weigh the ice maker for 250 more. But sears outlet is a good place to find one. Hope you find what you are looking for.

When it rains it pours....I finally get a job and start making money and now everything is falling apart. The printer on my computer went out today.

Anyone have a suggestion on a good 3-1 printer. I want to be able to PRINT, SCAN and COPY. Faxing isn't necessary. I currently have a Compaq Presario computer and would like to know if EPSON or HP are compatiable with this one???? I get paid Thursday so I'l be out that night getting a new one and installing it.

I used to have a Presario and used an HP printer. They worked great together.

Well found a great deal on a HP printer last night at Walmart of all places. Got home - installed it with no problem! Already printed out alot of stuff with it too - so for less than $100 - I think I got a good printer. Its scans and copies too.

And yes Coriolis, Sparky and Stormy - I finally got my microphone and got my speakers fixed - so next time we all chat on yahoo - it will be fun!!!

Hi Patricia -

Although Compaq uses a proprietary system - devices such as a printer, you can use any other "brand". I recently purchased an HP 2610 all-in-one Printer, Scanner, Copier, Fax - was around $299 - Had a problem with
the first one - took it back - got a new one and I am about 500%!!!

All right Ticka - you got the mic. Well of course, Stormy will be on her cruise starting late today - so will have to have our chats without her until she returns.

I got a new Maytag washer and dryer when I got out of college 2 years ago. So far so good! They had a year long warranty and then I bought an extra 10 years each for about a hundred bucks each. Not a bad deal when you look at how much it could cost to fix em when something breaks!

My husband and I are renting a house now and my dad knows our landlord - and lemme tell ya, he hooked up the kitchen. New GE stove and Whirlpool fridge. I love renting! lol

Best of luck finding new appliances.
