I'm about to hyperventilate!!!!!!!!!!!

From NWS this morning!!!
NOW CONCERNING PRECIPITATION ON FRIDAY. THE LONG WAVE PATTERN
INDICATES THAT THE JET ALOFT WILL STAY OVER SE TX. A FAIRLY
SIGNIFICANT SHORTWAVE WILL MOVE IN FROM THE PACIFIC...ARRIVING ACROSS
TX ON FRIDAY. THE ENTRANCE REGION OF THE JET WILL BE LOCATED OVER THE
COASTAL AREAS BY FRIDAY MORNING AND LOW PRESSURE SHOULD DEVELOP OFF
THE COAST THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. TEMPERATURES ALOFT AND AT THE
SURFACE WILL BE COLD ENOUGH FOR SOME SORT OF FROZEN PRECIPITATION OVER SE TX...PROBABLY SNOW -- THE MODELS HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN SLEET OR SNOW PROFILES FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS OR SO. THE GFS AND ETA BRING ISENTROPIC LIFT OVER AT LEAST THE COASTAL AND CENTRAL AREAS FRIDAY MORNING. AS OF NOW...WILL GO AHEAD AND KEEP THE POPS IN THE FORECAST. GIVEN THE FORECAST TEMPERATURE PROFILES...THE PRECIP WILL EITHER BE SNOW OR NOTHING...SO WILL GO AHEAD AND MENTION SNOW OR RAIN AND SNOW MIXED INSTEAD OF JUST RAIN. THE KEY WILL BE HOW
CLOSE THE COASTAL LOW AND TROUGH WILL GET AND HOW CLOSE THE MOISTURE
CAN GET.

Oh, and HUGE kudos to Jeff who has been calling this system for about a week now, if memory serves me correctly. NAILED IT. GREAT JOB. I swear, he is my one source for accurate weather prediction around here. He's missed a forecast once that I know of, other than that, always right on the money. How extremely fortunate we are to have him. Santa needs to give him extra presents this year!!!

Merry Christmas to Everyone!

LOL, I knew you'd love it. When I read that this morning, I had to go outside to stop hyperventilating. Just read the forecast to Ken, who about fell out of bed in shock.

Can you believe this? Really, after the year we've had, we deserve it. What time does "SnoWatch 2004" begin?

For me tomorrow at 5 p.m.!!! Yeah I have the video and digital camera ready - so if those flakes to fall I can capture them...

Snow on Christmas eve here in SE Texas - who woud of ever dreamed of it. Now if we can just get 2 or 5 inches to fall - I would be one happy camper. Now I'm dreaming.

Keep me udated Bozo.

I'll be home all day so will post updates when necessary or when I next hear from Jeff. Ken's off Christmas Eve as well so looks like everyone should be safe and sound at home once the forecast begins to verify. Melissa is hauling butt home this morning, trying to outrun any nasty weather that hits up there first.

I'm going to email my in-laws in Illinois. They'll never believe this.

Channel 11 is forecasting a high Friday of 35 and 33 for Christmas day right now on the 6:30 am news. Said may have to lower the temp high for today. Said earlier that we will remain below freezing for sometime. And is forecasting snow on Christmas Eve! Also shows Christmas day as cloudy.
