yes I know that fun time of year. I love christmas and its my favoite time of year, I love the music. This is the first year in a long time I have not had it together. I do not have my shopping done nor the decorating done. I have been thinking about something, Have we gone to materialist. What is the true meaning of Christmas, have we gone to far?????? When I was a child we recieved only a few gifts, one large present and then a few others. We spent the week before christmas baking and having fun as a family. Now the kids recieve all these gifts and still want more.
So they say this is the day that Jesus was born, some depute that this was the day. yes gifts were brought to him by the 3 wise men each brought one gift, and the shepherd just came to greet the new king. So how did christmas get so out of line??
I believe christmas should be the time for giving not recieving, sharing not taking. ok so I am weird, so shoot me.

No Stormy you are not weird. This Christmas more so then others is about being with family and sharing the memories and traditions. I believe TOO MUCH is put on materialistic aspect of all the gift giving. Where is the family - love - and spirituality of it all?

I for one know this year - I don't want any gifts - yeah I am giving - scrapping and scrounging for money to do this with my meager job and Donny being laid off - I'll buy for everyone else - but I just want to have family and friends around sharing the spirit of the season.
