Yes, Marva is here for any and all questions and advice. Ask me anything. I can tell you:
1. How to arrange for lasagna to accidently spill on that horrid in-law of yours
2. The correct colors for all seasons
3. Sure fire ways to put romance back into your life
4. Why there is more than one use for duct tape
5. When it is acceptable to gag at dinner

Go ahead. Don't be shy. No question too stupid or mundane or ridiculous.

*****a small fee will be required before any initial consultations*****

Duct tape-not just for ducts anymore. Actually a wonderful useful item to have on hand for:

1. Patching that hole in your screen door.
2. Picking off cat lint
3. Picking up the cat
4. Cut your finger and have no bandaid? DUCT TAPE IT. I swear. My hubby did this years ago when he sliced his finger. Healed with virtually no scar. Superglue works well also. They came up with dermabond from this.
5. Taping your teenager to the wall when they won't do what you ask.
6. Who needs Christmas ornament hangers??? Get the picture?

Ticka Marie,
Marva must go to the bank, fill up the gas can, go by the post office, go to Home Depot and Krogers, mow the back and front yard, and finish texturing the ceiling in the bathroom and get a coat of primer on the walls. If Marva is alive after doing all this, she will respond to your query. Rest assured it will be uppermost in her mind the entire day.

Good day dear reader,
Marva the Maniac

Dearest Stormy:
No wonder your name is stormy, having been beleagered by a poor choice in computer technology.

It's truly simple, there is only one pure choice for computers, and that would be DELL!!!!!.

Marva herself has been through the roller coaster ride and completely destroyed two previous computers. (They were burned in effigy) I highly recommend Dell since you can customize your machine any way you want it, the Dell shipping time is minimal and it is by far the easiest machine I've ever hooked up, everything all nice and color coordinated-and you know how Marva is about being color coordinated! I purchased my new Dell back in April and it has been a constant source of pleasure for the entire family, including the cats, who seem to derive great enjoyment from tapping on the Dell keyboard at the most inopportune time. They've also taken a liking to my mouse, which somehow always ends up on the floor when I'm not here.

Should you decide to purchase some other SUBSTANDARD computer, please do not whine to Marva as Marva told you what to do (Dell)and you ignored Marva.

As far as your control panel resetting things, it's obvious that you have been infected with some demon spawn who is playing with your system while you are off doing something more productive. I suggest a priest and an exorcism.

Now dear readers, I'm back out into the fray to continue my endless tasks.

Jolly day dear readers,
Marva

BTW, did I mention Dell?

8400 is a great choice if you need that many bells and whistles. I went with the 4600 and crammed it with everything I could except a DVD burner (hindsight, wish I would have) and got the 17" flat panel as well. My main concern was my husband who plays some very graphic-intensive games so I had to make sure I had an excellent graphics card and a ton of RAM.

One note on the ordering-they'll give you (or at least they did me) a ship date of like 2 weeks. Mine was here in 4 days.

Stormy -

I also have a Dell system (8200). I actually had a problem with what I knew was the 21" monitor. I still was under the 3 year service contract. I kept telling them it is the monitor but they kept sending the video cards and motherboard. The last tech tried and the system was dead and both the tech here in Miami and the senior tech at Dell could not get it to work so they replaced both the computer and monitor. I had a high end system so they replaced it with a high end system. I was very suprised when I actually got more RAM, better video card, etc. SOOOOO - I highly recommend DELL and also the service contract. Get as many years as they allow - its well worth it.

Mine plays those stupid virtual reality games or the ones that last forever like railroad tycoon or Age of Empires. Drives me freaking nuts. Those games are why my bathroom STILL isn't finished...................

Okay folks - I am looking at a new computer - does any know about networking on a dialup? With hubby, me and my 9-year old daugther - there isn't enough computer to go around. With me running this website - I spend alot of time online. So I was wondering what does a DELL cost? I was looking at getting a Dell either a desktip or a laptop - I might see if the wireless thing would work here - oh the questions and no answers LOL......
