Okay WOW members - I need some help. I am giving my daughter a surprise sleep-over and I have to do it really cheap. I am going to invite 5 of her friends to come and stay the night. Any ideas on what I can do CHEAP to keep them entertained for the evening? Also, what kind of foods I can prepare that they would like to eat. The girls will range in age from 7 years old to 12 years old that will be at the party.
Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Patricia

Here's some fun munchies and activities for your Halloween Party.
Look in the refrigerator section of the produce area (it's usually near the packaged salad mix) in your grocery store for Egg Roll/Wonton Wrappers or Pasta Wrappers. They are packed in a flat celephane package. If your store doesn't have them you can substitute Pillsbury crescent rolls that comes in a tube. (if you use the crescent rolls you need to roll the dough to make it thinner). Buy the hot dogs or sausage of your choice. Roll up each hot dogs in its own skin and fry in oil. When the skins are cripsy they're done. Remove, pat with paper towel to remove any excess oil and cut up in small bite-size slices. Buy paper cups and cut down the tops so they are only about 1-2" high. Have the kids decorate the cups with their name and pictures using marker or crayons. Each kid can have 2-3 cups. Fill the cups with mustard, ketchup or anything else you'd like them to use as dips. Each kid gets their own cups so there's no double dipping and germ spreading. As an activity you can also have each kid roll up their own hot dog in the skin. And if they prefer you don't even have to cut up the hot dog into pieces.
Here's a good game:
At the dollar store, buy a bunch of kid gifts - with girls the hair accessories work well. Wrap each gift with wrapping paper. Now you have to wrap the package with aluminum foil alternating with either brown paper or saran wrap. The idea is to make the ball as big as possible by putting a layer of foil, a layer of paper, another layer of foil, etc. etc. until the ball is the size of a basketball. The kids sit in a circle and pass the ball around while you play music. Stop the music and the kid who is holding the ball removes a layer. Keep doing this until all layers are gone and the kid who is holding the ball and reaches the gift gets to keep it. It keeps them busy for hours and all you have to do is play music and stop it.
Let me know if you need more recipes or ideas. I've done alot of these parties and have made them as simple and fun as possible.
Happy Halloween.
