Gosh i think most people in this world have been on one diet or another.lol well after talking to a few members i decided to start a thread on diets, to help each other out. A support group.
I hate diets and I think most are a waste of time. I started a diet in the beginning of the year, my mother was taking me on the QM2 first class and i wanted to look good. I had always been a ok weight until my last child, she killed me and my body. Believe me I have been on every diet and the more i tried to lose weight, the bigger I got. So I decided to go on my own diet.
Kims diet, I cut back on portions and tried to get my stomach to get smaller. I exercised 2 times a day, 6 laps on the tread mill, i started at 3 and worked up to 3.8, then i worked on the bench just with 20 lbs, then at night floor exercises, anything i could think of. I tried to drink lots of water, and salads. but one thing I did different this time is, if i wanted something sweet or something i shouldnt have, I would have it. not all the time but when i needed it, this way I didnt benge(sp). I never went near the scales, ( they are so depressing), but would measure myself. I had also a great support group, my friends. It worked and i lost 35 lbs.( ok i checked 2 times in 3 months) but i lost more in inches and I firmed up.
I am now going on another cruise in Jan.( thanks to my mom) and I want to look better. I would love to lose 40 to 50 lbs this time and I will do it. so guys anybody that wants to lose weight lets help each other we can do it. we are a family and families work together to help each other. so who is with me????

I could always lose some weight. I lost 20 lbs when I had oral surgery and not being able to eat. But now that I'm at home and don't do much. I need to get back into shape. I find eating sensibly, exercising and drinking water is the three main ingredients that I need to successfully lose weight. Once I start exercising I start feeling better and have more energy to get up and do stuff. One thing that I have to cut out is sodas. I quit drinking sodas for 6 months last year and by that alone I lost 15 lbs.

I think it would get great to have a support team here to check in when a boast is need. I agree on not using the scale Stormy. I found if I didn't look at the scale - but at the way my clothes felt on me - I had much better success on my diet.

I would like to lose another 20 lbs. as my first goal.

It's funny i have over a period of 18 years tried every diet imaginable and with little or no success. When i had my daughter i was the exception i lost weight instead of gaining it. Then boom out of the woods all this weight crept up on me and it seems and endless battle. Was successful last year with the six week body makeover but, due to being sick and taking predizone i gained it all back. SO where does one start at i want to be thin again yet the only option i see to help me is gastric bypass. Which i am horrifiied to do. I'll join the group but, you have got your work cut out stormy in helping me find what is the right diet for me. LOL

ok sparky i am here for you. Just start by drinking alot of water and exercising as much as you can. but dont hurt yourself. start slow 2 times a day. then we will all eat a little less at each meal. that is my goal for the week too, starting tomorrow. Lets all start this together. I will not call this a diet. I HATE DIETS. we are here for each other.

You know stress is the best diet there is for me right now. I just don't eat. My hubby is yelling at me to eat more. But all this stress - I have no appepite or desire to eat.

Well enough about me. Can't break my soda habit (Dr. Pepper) - tried twice this week and it didn't work - NO WILLPOWER.

Ticka, you got back on the Dr. Pepper again? I'm still on my 6 pack of coke a day diet. It's doing wonders. Can feel myself expanding as I type this.

I have one Dr. Pepper a day, and I wouldn't give it up for anything. :) I've tried Diet DP, but it's SO not the same. I love the commercials -- "Tastes more like regular Dr. Pepper!" Yeah, maybe more than, say, Sprite, but it bears little resemblence to my beloved Dr. Pepper. :D

well its a good thing I do not like sodas, cause i would be as big as a blimp. I love water but i need to drink more of it than coffee, which i love. Bozo quit drinking so much sodas lol. put water in the cans and act like you are drinking Dr. Pepper. I agree gina if i am going to drink a soda i want the real thing not the diet ones. they are so not good.

can relate on the pop(sodas) when i went on a diet last year and elimanated them and replace it with lemon water i lost 10lbs the first week and it was all weight gained from those pepsies. It is a hard vice to put down and no diet drinks don't taste the same as the regular ones.

Yep Bozo - back on the Dr Pepper - with all the crap going on - its my one bad vice that I can not break this time for some reason. I finally drank all the Dr Pepper in the house and didn't buy anymore so at least now if I want one I have to get off my lazy rump and go buy one and spend money LOL.

Well I went back to DIET Coke today (GAG!), can't completely shake the carbonated beverage habit. Also started back on the hydroxycut and walked 2 1/2 miles this morning.

Would rather have a nice piece of SPICE CAKE right now but will refrain. :hmpf:

Well no soda for me today as of 1:15 p.m. - woohoo. Been doing housework all day today - that's exercise isn't it?

Had a bowl of peaches and a banana for lunch. So I'm doing better today. Will walk on the threadmill tonight.

Great going Stormy and Bozo on the exercise. We can do this!!!

I had leftover pizza for lunch today, so I'm not off to a great start... lol

Hey Bozo, how does the Hydroxycut work for you? I would love to take something like that, but I'm not sure how any of them would react with my b.p. meds. I think I'll ask my doctor in a few weeks when I go back.

I'll do better on the diet tomorrow, I swear!! I just had nothing else to bring for lunch today... heh :)

Gina, DO NOT take the hydroxycut until you ask your doctor. I have no problem with it and I have tachycardia (spelling) i.e. a rapid heartbeat with some irregularities. It gives me no problem whatsoever and yes, TONS of energy. Today I have:
Gone to 2 classes
Washed four loads of laundry
Cleaned 1/4 of the garage
Washed 2 cars
Walked
So, yes it DOES pep you up but contains no ephedra (BAD STUFF).

Pizza for lunch??? Man, I'd kill for that. I had a turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich, small bag of cheetos. No breakfast (I can't eat before I go to class, too early). And then to COMPLETELY blow it tonight we're having chicken fried steak, mashed taters, gravy and green beans. Only difference for me today (other than diet coke and being mucho active) was I have not snacked. At all. Period. Oh, and I'm having my nightly cocktail with diet coke.

I REFUSE to weigh myself until Sunday. I mean how sad is it when your husband tells you to lose weight and won't even take you to his boss' 50th anniversary party? Woe is me....please pass the diet ice cream.

Bozo - you will lose the weight with us here and you will go to that party!!! Love the ghost images Bozo - so ghoulish!!!!

What is Hydroxycut and where can you get it? I need something to give me energy!!!!!

I think Bozo and me were on the same wavelength today.

I did two loads of laundry
Went throught 4 boxes of junk - threw away 95% of it
Did two dishwasher loads of dishes
Cleaned and vacumned the living room
Called on several jobs and got one appointment with a headhunter tomorrow.

Now I'm going to work on my arts and crafts.

The party is Saturday, not much chance of me losing the weight by then, WHATEVER!!! Like I wanted to go ANYWAY...

Hydroxycut can be purchased at Eckerds or Walgreens. I've seen the new Cortislim now selling on their shelves as well. That's the one suppose to get rid of belly fat (shh, like any of us has that). Figure I'll try that one when I'm finished with this bottle of Hydroxy.

I have a ton of Halloween attachments. My favorite time of year, next to Christmas............then again my husband could attest to me being a witch, as well as some of my friends.

Tomorrow night should be hard, having dinner with an out of town friend at Ninfas-God forgive me my queso, as I forgive those who queso against me. Not to mention the pitchers of margaritas............

chic I love your attitude. But I liked myself better when i was much thinner or the way I looked. I have so many neat clother I would love to fit my butt back into. And after I lose all my weight I want to quit smoking.
Bozo dont let him be that way with you I would tell my husband to take a flying leap or to suck up and bust. If he doesnt like the way I look or to tell me to lose weight I would tell him move on down the road. lol I am sure you look great. I am losing weight for me not him.....
by the way how do you do the attachments I want to know.

Well I was so depressed last with with finances and still no job that everyday after I came back from jobhunting and interviewing I had a big ole rootbeer float. But I did exercise with hubby three times to DVD from fitness made simple. I could feel the difference. I know I didn't lose any - but like Bozo - I maintained. Now I must get on the threadmill to kick the weight loss into action.

Has anyone watch Dr Phil and his weight loss members? I am tempted to get his book and read it. Curious is anyone has followed anything he suggested? Sometimes I like his advice and points to follow - then sometimes I think he's over analyzing everything :-)

Let me know if you have followed any of his plans and etc.

Bozo
10-03-2004, 04:48 PM
I'd go buy his book but am afraid I'd pass a McDonalds on the way......

For me it would be a Marble Slab or Baskin Robbins. I wish I had the money for Marble Slab - cause I would go there and have my dinner - oh gosh I can just taste it now.

ok I am starting today. THIS IS IT, I feel like a fat pig. ok guys quit talking about ice cream, i love it too and i refuse to have it in my house at least for a month. everybody in this house needs to lose weight. also have never restocked from the storm (which i lost everything) I am hearing all the time nothing to eat in this house and that is the way its going to be for a long time. I have got to lose alot of weight before Jan 15, I am going to die during christmas. so now i am on a roll.( I think lol )

I've done okay today, diet coke city along with my hydroxycut. Of course, now that I finished the geology test from hell, I really want some BROWNIES but will get a grip and see if I can find something more suitable. I HAVE to go to the store later, so that's gonna be like cutting my nose off to spite my face. Think I'll go walk once kick a$$ weather gets here later today, at least it won't be so boring. My daughter says I should try water aerobics, would be better on my joints and she lost some weight that way. Anyone do that? (Like I want to even THINK of myself in a swimsuit)

stormy
10-04-2004, 02:17 PM

Well today I ate for breakfast a bowl of oatmeal, lunch was a ham sandwich with grapes and two glasses of tea. That's all I have had all day long. Now I just need to do my exercises tonight and I'll be on track.

You can do it Stormy - and Bozo - think one day at a time. Sparky how are you doing? Just checking on you?

Patricia

Bozo
10-07-2004, 02:35 AM
One day at a time, great, wonderful..........I'm not losing a FREAKING POUND. I don't get it, even the hydroxycut isn't working this time. How many miles I gotta do a day to drop even an ounce? 14? 15?

WHERE IS RICHARD SIMMONS WHEN YOU NEED HIM??

stormy
10-07-2004, 11:17 AM
hey key to this is not to weigh yourself but do the inches thing. believe me it works. i would get so depressed with the scale. just exercise.
