Ok, 270 is due west right, so I would assume that 315 would be considered NW. Now say we have a storm that does a 285 track during one three hour period and a 323 track during the next three hour period. Do they average them to get some sort of idea of which way the storm is going or do the use the straight figures for each advisory?
Reason I ask is I watched Ivan all day, wobble, ERC, or whatever. And there were times when although I wasn't paying attention to the actual degree of movement is was OBVIOUSLY moving NW but in the last loop I ran he seemed to be running DUE WEST although advisory says WNW. Mind you I'm not questioning NHC, just questioning why I'm so stupid that I can't see it the way they do.
