For those of use who went thru and are still recovering from Ike the memories are getting a little easier, but it's still fairly fresh on our minds and in many ways hard to believe it was 2 years ago that Ike came on shore and caused such devastation. While many people are focusing on the bad, the troubles with insurance payments and places not recovering yet, I really liked how a group in Galveston commemorated the anniversary. A flash mob dance on the Strand to Elton John’s still standing. Proof that Texans and Islanders are a tough breed that may be knocked down, but continue rise up

It was one tough storm to weather physically and mentally. I had to deal with my dad's massive heart attack and being in Methodist Hospital during the storm and 6weeks after. He had it the day before Ike hit.

Two years late he's doing good and life goes one. I have perfected my wishcasting to send all storms away from SE Texas area.

I saw that TSD online this morning - I think that's a kewl thing they did. BTW the Texas City Dikes are now open after being destroyed by IKE. They are now open for public access. Another sign that things can be fixed/repaired it just takes time and determination.
