I am planting a bigger garden this year due to the economic state of our nation. I plan on canning the green beans, making dill pickles from the cucumbers, canning the tomatoes and okra too.
We have the ground till - just waiting on a rain to till it again - adding fertilizer and by next weekend - March 14th - I hope to plant my tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, okra, bell peppers and several jalepeno plants on the back deck.
Is anyone else planting a garden this spring?

We have to plant our vegetables in pots and put them up at the road cause there are so many trees you can't get any sun except up near the mailbox and the ditch! But we managed to have a pretty nice crop last year, so hopefully we can pull it off again!

For some reason, I'm giving it a shot. I can't start a lot yet because work is still being done on the house and I don't want debris flying out into the backyard onto my garden. But I have tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, and strawberries. I haven't grown anything since I had a tomato "patch" (my mom's term for my wild, out-of-control garden of six tomato plants) about 20 years ago. I miss home-grown tomatoes. Everything is starting in a container and then I'll go from there.

I put out some onions sets and potatos over the weekend. I've been working on the soil, brought some manure back from the farm last trip and have been working it in - want to enlarge the garden this year, but haven't got it done yet. Won't get the rest of my garden in until after the end of rodeo.
I hope to plant tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, okra, peppers and still have several jalepeno plants that have still been producing since last summer.
