Denial, anger, bargaining -- been there, done that.

Depression -- setting in now.

Waiting to work through that and get to the final stage -- acceptance.

In the meantime, I'm hanging on by a thread. Things are getting weird. Friends and I are having a hard time.

And what's with all these freaking gnats and flies everywhere?!? Everyone talks about getting bug spray for the mosquitos. There are no mosquitos! But there are a crapload of stupid gnats and flies EVERYWHERE!!

I know what you are going through. I also told you that you would encounter this type thinking and trust me, it WILL pass.

As for the gnats and flies. This was common with Katrina too. They are mainly fruit flies, fungus gnats and drain flies. They are around because of the flooding and that will pass too.

Duckie - I'm not where you are but I have too been thru the same stages. Getting out the depressed state is hard. I was depressed for about two weeks. Then you realize what have and what you are thankful for - like your life, friends, family and whatever else you need to inspire you.

I hope it passes quickly for you - are you working?

I had an overly active imagination and alot of heavy winter snow experiance - in the Pine Forests in Dickinson I had a 6inch layer of pine needles that I visualized as a 6inch layer of snow. Never got a generator. Monsanto was back up within days but they're gone now. I was at the Monsanto Texas City and Chocolate Bayou refineries.

5 stages of post Katrina Insurance Grief on the gulf coast.

Denial, - insurance denying claims
Anger, - angry insurance denied claims
Bargaining, - tried to bargain for part of claim
Depression, - what i would like to leave in my adjusters head with a tack hammer
Acceptance, - what we had to take after signing the arbitration agreement with the damned insurance company.

No.......

Just kidding!!!!!!!!

It isn't a bad memory at all (I'm a bit sick in the head though)

we were at out fallback position having evacuated the house the night before, dad was too stubborn to leave so I took my mom to our shelter (old building in downtown biloxi). the quick story:

1- dad drove through surge and got there bout 8am
2- family friends got there bout 8:30 and banged on teh door....we went out and were waist deep pulling them in......once inside, they told us they forgot their dogs, and my dad and I had to go back and pull 2 min-pins each inside....little bastards chewed us up.

once inside the water was coming in so we got everyone upstairs and my roommate and I sat and drank beer as the water came in the building............as i said...sick bastards. :cheers2:
