Cuirous comment made by local Houston met tonight

Anthony what's his name made a comment that this front would go out into the GOM and very well could organize into something tropical by the end of the week or the weekend. He said TS or a Hurricane.

Jeff do you see anything like this happen. I made my husband repeat exactly what he said to me ..... and he repeated exactly what I heard... hubby ask me is there something you aren't telling me?

Did anyone else in the Houston area hear this? It was on Channel 2.

I saw this as well. About 4pm yesterday.

He said he was watching and a little worried about the front stalling in the GOM.

From what I heard, I lost his video link ... but JB mentionned "homegrown activity" in the Gulf

I do not see anything in the models suggesting any kind of tropical development in the Gulf through Friday.

A review of the IR and visible images does not show any organized activity along the diffuse frontal boudnary.

Of course weak fronts can spin up lows and convection quickly as we saw with Gaston, so it does bear watching.
