Fess Up!!!

After I spent a considerable amount of time last night with a member who didn't know how to read a radar, it struck me that there are prolly others of you out there that don't know things but are too embarrassed to ask. WHY???? Heaven's sakes, I didn't know squat at one time either. If you don't know something, don't understand, just need basic info, just ASK!!! No one is going to slam you for not knowing and you must know that LACK of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. So here's a poll to see exactly what y'all really know about the weather vs. what you will admit to knowing.

I try to be very patient when I teach people about weather since I was once and STILL am in the "learning boat". Chic, I wasn't going to single you out but I felt bad that you DIDN'T know, like we weren't educating our members as well as informing them.
Chic is a prime example of many of the population out there, they go by what they are told on TV and they don't know where to look for the information themselves, much less how to understand it. A few basic principles of meteorology can lead to a much better understanding of ALL weather in general. I enjoyed being able to share some of what I know with her and would gladly do it again for anyone else on the board.
So the lesson here is, if you don't know-ASK!!!!! If you're too timid to ask in a post, send one of us a pm and we'll be glad to guide you in the right direction. Jeff on here IS an actual degreed met (I'm SO envious) and has a head full of knowledge and is more than willing to explain things as time allows.
