Just curious, what year holds the record for the most named storms in one hurricane season, and how many storms were there?

I will let James confirm, but I like the record is held by 1933 with 21 storms?

Dear Board,
If by chance we get past Wilma on the list, we then would go to military names, correct? If that is the case, C on the list is Charley, correct? Did we not have a hurricane Charley last year? What would the National Hurricane Center do in a case like that? Would they skip it or continue with the name? Thanks for the imput.

No, the Greek alphabet is used (Alpha, Beta, ...)

Oops. So sorry. Doesn't the TPC have a backup list of names?
