Make sure you say congrats and hi to our new site meteorologist, Jeffl. A recent grad of Texas A & M with a degree in meteorology, he has offered to provide us with weather updates, discussions, and forecasts as time permits. He also does weather e-mail reports for SE TX similar to the posts he makes on here. If you would like to get those just send him an e-mail at the email address below. We will be posting them daily on here as well. Welcome aboard Jeff and we look forward to hearing alot more from you.

Welcome Jeff! Glad to see we have a met grad in here. I'm a soon to be met grad at Mississippi State University. I am in charge of the Birmingham Alabama local forecast office for USA Weather (currently a non profit org.). I am also a severe weather specialist, national nowcaster, and tropical storm specialist there. Check us out at http://www.usaweather.net for the most up to date forecast and life threatening weather information. We work hand in hand with several local NWS offices as well as the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma. I look forward to posting here. God Bless...

Hey Bret, what met classes are required at Mississippi state for a met degree? Just curious as my classes were highly based in the physics and math with regards to the dynamical and thermodyanmical meteorology and we got very little forecasting experience except in our severe weather and tropical cyclones classes. A&M decided to make the second synoptic dynamics course optional, however you must have 6 hours of dynamics to work at any government weather office. What are your plans after graduation on camera or continue work with some of the organizations you are involved in.
