Have there been any studies as to how hurricanes and tropical storms effect ocean life? And how does one effect the other?

Well, I believe there have been some studies on the effects of hurricanes on coral reefs and on the various inhabitants of Florida Bay. Probably others as well, but I am not familiar with them.
