Just curious how many of you clip coupons and actually use them when you go grocery shopping? I can clip tons of them and always forget to take them when I go shopping.
Since I am going to be at home for a hopefully very short period of time starting next Friday - I am trying to do everything I can do to save money and get us on a budget. And live on hubby's salary or at least until I get unemployment or get another job. Keep me in your prayers.
Any comments, suggestions, failures and etc are very much welcomed.

well I also clip coupons and then they never make it to the store. But when it comes to shopping for clothers and such, now i am good at that. First you need to become friends with people who work at your favoite store, this way you can get invited to friends and family events. then to buy clothers and other stuff i find out who is having the sale, never pay full price for anything. If i dont have a coupon i ask if one is coming out. Did you know that Bed and Bath coupons never expire. they dont. I just found some that were a couple years old. also have your kids sign up for extra coupons. Now on all credit card i have this thing where they give back money and or gifts from there stores. I also get double points at most stores for stuff. American Express. i never buy if its not on sale. i hope i can get better at the grocery store coupons
As far as budget, its hard , i have a husband who think i have a swiss bank account. he loves to spend money, if not i could get my bills in line and get rid of this ugly house we live in
Good Luck Ticka its hard I know

Once again, I am Miss Anal Retentive. I get all the grocery store flyers and see who has the best specials. Each store has it's own envelope with what I'm buying there listed on the outside. Then I go through ALL my coupons (sorted by expiration date in small plastic bags) and place the coupons in the appropriate store envelope. And THEN, to be even MORE ridiculous, I go to Walmart SuperMarket to see if their prices beat the sales BEFORE I go to the three other stores.
I have completely lost my marbles. And yes, I know within 10.00 how much my groceries will run me per week, have menus planned for each day and even allot money for smokes, cokes, whatever.

Also stingray most grocery stores will honor other coupons from other stores and match the prices so you dont have to go to other stores. I bet you clean your own carpets too.
another thing if we dont know how to fix it, i tell my husband get on the internet or the library. i have even called old boyfriends to find out how to do something. yes we do all of our own repairs and it saves alot of money.

I absolutely use coupons... I'm pretty sure it would cause me physical pain to pay full price for something, so I just never risk it.

LOL thank god i am not alone. I also shop three different grocery stores. Plan meals, cook up and freeze meals, and plan down to the last dollar.......My other half just goes with the flow... not me i have to know i have the bills paid and food to eat. Just so you know you can use coupons for cigerettes (brand names) to buy generic ones. Some convient stores will do that. Lord i got so tight a few years ago (diapers are outrageous) that i rolled my own cigerettes and saved a fortune. Also hide that loose change for a rainy day.. I did this while i was moving and saved back nearly 50.00.What can i say i get the "being a tight wad" from my mom. She was the queen when it came to that.

A friend of mine clips coupons and gets some over the net...the only woman I know that can get $300 in groceries and the store pays her! It's amazing! She is the coupon queen!! I don't know how she does it..she has garage sales and sells all the extra stuff she gets! IE...bathroom cleaner, etc. Most places give a discount if you buy in bulk! I know Wal Mart does!!! As for me...I don't do the coupon thing! I'm with you all! I save them, put them in my wallet, go to walmart and then forget to use them????
