Bonnie & Earl was our 2 named storms. Danielle was a hurricane. Alex & charley were our two intense storms. 13/7/3 is the forecast. It looks like we should see 1 more named storm;6 hurricanes and 1 intense hurricane with 111 mph or greater. So were almost there. Windy... :crazy-eye

Here is the shot from this morning. Mr. blob needs to move above 10* if we want him to survive.

BEAUTIFULLY PARTIALLY FORMED in process of coming off.

Nice little characteristic swirl. I gotta find a dancing beaver avatar or something. Best action I've seen all week.

I just want something to WATCH. I got such an adrenaline rush from Charley - I think I have been in a tropical DEPRESSION - did I just make a funny.

Latest GFS is showing 2 tropical waves at 120 and 240 hours in the SW Gulf of Mexico and W Caribbean. Something to watch next week. The EPAC is really starting to crank, could be MJO induced activity that will spread east over the next 2 weeks making conditions more favorable in the ATL basin. The shear is really moving over the ATL basin right now, not normal for mid to late Aug. Could it be the growing but weak ENSO developing in the central PAC????

Thanks for the update Jeffl - so possibly some action in the GOM next week? It would be nice to watch something in these parts. Keep us updated.

I'm sure we may see more than that. I was just listing what Dr. Gray said would develop. 13 named storms 7 of them hurricanes and 3 of them intense. we already had Danielle as a hurricane meaning 6 more to go. We had 2 of the intense storms Alex & Charley and 2 named storms Bonnie & Earl. We've had 5 so far to develop. Looks like 8 more to go. I have a feeling September will be hopping.
