James I have always been interested in weather, even as a small child sitting in our screened porch. Last year I came down for Frances, I stayed at my brothers and spent most of the night out in the rain. I was not in the center, but close enough. My question, I know you use to fly into the Hurricanes, but as a child or a adult have you ever wanted to chase? I know that I will try this year and chase again.

Not in any serious way. I was at MIT in 1979 when David (I think) threatened south Florida. I toyed with the notion of flying back home for it but made the right decision to stay in school when David turned away.

Having flown through Andrew, and then having gone through it on the ground a day later, has thoroughly dissuaded me from ever wanting to chase hurricanes on the ground. And I am not particularly eager to experience them in the air again either.

thanks James, ok now you will know me as the crazy one. I guess its just the excitement and I love the wind. I can't blame you for not wanting to fly through Hurricanes, gosh I don't even like to fly.
