Dumber than dirt

Ok, what am I doing wrong????? I try to insert an image into a post and all I get is red x's. I can see the pic or whatever but no one else can. I'm using the little image icon and linking from my yahoo briefcase but it's not showing up. Is it the extension on my files or am I just dumber than dirt.......................??????

Sorry for the delay, my computer at the office crashed and I had to rebuild it from scratch.

Give me an example of a post that is giving you this problem. Reply to this thread and attach an image to it.

Well, I am seeing a red x. Now this was working when I uploaded images the other day so I know it works. The only thing I can think of is that by the time the images gets uploaded, it is corrupt. Have you tried attaching different images?

You have my email address. Send me the image in an email and I will look at it.

Well, when I try to upload the images, I get the following errors: The red x's imply that the image is not there. I do not know why it bothered to say that. I cannot get the image to upload at all, I never get to a point where I might have a red x.

Is there a limit on the files we upload, as to size? Can that be adjusted? Should I just shoot myself? Must I attach everything?

yes there is a limit and yes it can be changed. It is in the ACP in the "vBulletin Options" section. Would you like me to change it for you? How big is the file you wish to upload? Note: If I change the file size maximum, it will change it for everybody.

But will changing the file size correct my problem with uploaded from the briefcase thingy or no? Because if it won't, then I don't see the need to do so. But if it WILL, yes please or tell me how big it should be and I'll do it. The size of the files (attachments) will vary so I can't tell you specifically how big it should be. I would rely on your expertise for that.

I am thinking that if all you need to do is display your pictures, then maybe installing an image gallery is a better idea.
