How many of you like to cook or bake? I know I love to bake - really have done alot of things this past year. One recipe I am looking for is a breadpudding recipe.
Here is a link to some recipes by Paula Deen - she has a show on Foodnetwork that I love. I am going to make several of her recipes to take to my mom's for Easter dinner.
Here is the link:

If you have a link to a site with good recipes for baking and cooking - post them here and I'll check them out...

Patrica I love to cook and bake. Don't do alot of it. I use to cater, but only do it for special friends now. I will be catering our graduation party for our homeschool group. Tomorrow Easter Sunday I will do a little cooking.
As far as bread pudding I will post one, I have one that everyone loves, haven't made in years.

ok ticka this is long but o so good, this is from the Commander's Palace
French Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce
1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
5 eggs beaten
1pt heavy cream
1 T vanilla extract
Dash of cinnamon
1/4 C Raisins ( which can be left out)
12 slices of French bread cut 1 inch thick
Whiskey Sauce (recipe follows)
1. Preheat to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, using a mixer, beat together the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs, cream, vanilla and cinnamon and beat until thoroughly combined. Stir in raisins. Pour the mixture into a 9in square baking pan.
2. Place the bread slices flat in the pan and let stand for 5 minutes to soak up the liquid. Turn the bread over and let stand for 10 minutes longer. Then push the bread down so that most of it is submerged. Don't break up the slices.
3. Set the pan in a larger pan and pour in enough water to reach within 1/2 inch of the top of the inner pan. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes. uncover the pudding and bake for 10 minutes longer, until the top is browned and the pudding is still soft.
4. Spoon the pudding onto plates and pass the Whiskey Sauce separately.
Whiskey Sauce
1/2 t cornstarch
1 C heavy cream
1 C sugar
pinch of cinnamon
1 T butter
1 T bourbon or whiskey
1. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in 1/4 C of water.
2. In a medium saucepan. combine the cream, sugar, cinnamon and butter. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar, about 3 minutes. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the bourbon. serve slightly warm

Cake:
Vegetable Oil Spray for pan
1 pkg. plain yellow cake mix
1 pkg. 3.4 oz vanilla instant pudding
1 cup of milk
1 cup of vegetable oil
4 large eggs
Milk Syrup:
1 can evaporated milk
1 15 oz can of cream of coconut (or sweetened condensed milk if you don't like coconut)
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla or rum flavoring
Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350. Lightly mist 13 X 9 baking pan with oil spray and set the pan inside.
Place the cake mix, pudding mix, milk, oil and the eggs in large mixing bowl. Blend with electic mixer on low for one minute. Scrape sides of bowl with spatula and blend on medium speed for two minutes. When blended well, pour into prepared pan and smooth out with rubber spatula. Place pan in oven.
Bake the cake until it is golden brown, springs back when lightly pressed in center with finger, about 32 to 34 minutes. Remove from oven and let set for 2 hours.
When thoroughly cooled, pierce entire top of cake a fork or wood skewer. The holes should completely cover the top.
Prepare the syrup, whisk together the milk syrup ingredients and ladle slowly over the entire cake. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and chill at least two hours before serving. Serve with a dollop of freshly whipped cream or just as it is! Or you could 'ice' with the cool whip and add cherries or shaved chocolate to flavor!
Hope you enjoy...

I gained 3 lbs - reading that recipe. But it sounds so yummy. Wish I had time to bake - seems like I have no extra time these days. I bought 2 loaves of french bread over the weekend - guess what I was sick with a headcold and couldn't make the bread pudding.
Guess I'll try this coming weekend - we are embarking on a major kitchen remodeling project. Tile floors, new counter tops, new lightning and new hardware for the cabinets. Hubby and me are planning on doing it as we can afford it and ourselves. Wish us luck.

...wow! How awesome that bread pudding recipe is! My family LOVED it. I fixed it substituting some rum flavoring for the whiskey and it was GREAT! Thanks again for the recipe...

I made monkey bread and peach clobber this weekend. They were both so good. Going to have to workout extra hard this weekend after sampling both of them.
